The team are back together this week and updating their 'good kit' guide - the equipment we use and love daily. It's not the best and it may not be the newest, but it's the gear that keeps us productive when mobile. In this season's update we focus a lot on power supplies and batteries, as keeping devices charged stays at the top of our worry list.
In other news Ewan's bought a new family car (it's nice) and Rafe has joined the library. We're a rock 'n roll podcast.
Ewan recommends his 6000 mAh Mophie Powerstation Duo which will charge and iPhone and iPad simultaneously and he prefers over the Juice Pack range which double as a phone case because he can charge a wide range of devices.
Rafe recommends the Pebble smart watch which he loves for more convenient notifications and ‘reasonable’ battery life (compared to competing products). He also likes the look of the Withings Activité which actually looks like a watch you’d want to wear.
Ben loves his PlugBug which adds a USB charging point to your Macbook’s power brick and includes a full set of international travel adaptors. He also recommends Anker’s 5-way USB charger.
Rafe still loves his Mu foldable plug which addresses the UK's (and those we inflicted it on elsewhere in the world) chunky plug form-factor. The Mu Tablet (soon to be released) will offer faster charging than the original model. He also recommends his Nomad Key cable so he always has access to a charging cable until wireless charring is universal.
The team don’t like cases but grudgingly use them. Rafe recommends the Dot View case for the HTC One M8 which offers a custom UI through its patterned design. Ben and Ewan both use Apple’s own leather iPhone 5s cases (but get the black one). Ben owns the Logitech Ultrathin iPad keyboard case for iPad and thinks it’s the best of the bunch.
